Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon Training and Drop-In Workshop

Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon Training and Drop-In Workshop In-Person

Wikipedia is the worlds largest, most popular free reference resource online. However, Wikipedia editors and content lack inclusion and underrepresented groups.

In celebration of Women's History Month, join librarians and others to learn how to edit Wikipedia and grow representation in this vast resource. Participants will be guided through setting up a Wikipedia account, learn the basics of editing and creating information in Wikipedia, and create resources that highlight information about Dominican and the Sisters. Archival and reference materials will be used.

Participants do not need to have a Wikipedia account or know how to edit.

Snacks will be provided!

11am-1pm: drop-in workshop to sign up for Wikipedia account and learn basics of editing

1-6pm: communal updating and creating of Wikipedia entries
