Crown Jewel: Notes of Interest from Rebecca Crown Library’s 50th Anniversary In-Person

2022, for Dominican University, will be a year of reflection and celebration.  Not only is this year the 100th anniversary of the University’s original move from Wisconsin to River Forest, Illinois, 2022 is also the 50th anniversary of the formal dedication of the Rebecca Crown Library.  We invite you to join us as we commemorate our place as the “heart of campus,” and look back on the culmination of the Sisters’ dreams of a stand-alone library.  This “staircase surrounded by a library” is rich in history, but much of its story is yet to be told.  Come hear Dominican’s Archivist and Special Collections Librarian Steven Szegedi discuss this history whilst daydreaming about its future in the University’s new Learning Commons.

Program will be in person in the Contemplation Space in the Rebecca Crown Library and on Zoom.
